After engineer studies and an officer career, Raymond Caux was 7 years hang gliding technical adviser at the French Hang Gliding & Paragliding Federation (FFVL), of which 5 years national team leader. Hang gliding since 1984, national team member in 3 world championships from 2003 to 2007, he also practised skydiving and a little gliding. He has been involved in safety concerns since 2007, and Safety Officer at the International Hang Gliding & Paragliding Commission (CIVL) of the World Air Sports Federation (FAI) during 5 years until 2017.
